Let's see, my quirks are:
1. I like celebrities... who doesn't? But I tend to fixate on one particular celebrity almost to the point of obsession for a while... until I pick another celebrity to fixate on. I've done this since at least 6th grade. I think it started with Fred Savage from The Wonder Years. Or maybe Johnny Depp when he was on 21 Jump Street. Until recently it was Jay DeMarcus (the bass player from Rascal Flatts - that's him with me in my pic up there.) But I've moved on and now I'm fixated on Nick Lachey. Yum!
2. The main reason I like going to the gym is because there is a HOT personal trainer there named Kyle... No, I've never talked to him and it wouldn't make a difference if I had because I am married and most of the time my husband is at the gym with me, but yeah, he's nice to look at.
3. I think my daughter's track coach is hot... gee, notice a trend here?
4. Moving on... I get this weird high from walking out of the grocery store paying next to nothing for my groceries. Although, if you are reading this then you probably won't think it's that weird because you probably get that same high! But my friends that are coupon users just don't get it.
5. I love getting the mail. Even back when I was a kid and nothing was ever for me, I loved getting the mail. Then when I got older and started sending for rebates, etc. it got even better. Now, I will send for freebies that I won't even use just because I love getting mail!
6. I pull my eyelashes. I don't know why. I think it is actually a real disorder that has a name but yeah, I do it. Sometimes I will do it to the point that I don't have many left. Then I will refrain from doing it for a while and they grow back but I always end up doing it again. It's really embarrassing and I hate that I do it but I can't seem to help it:(

It pays to complain...
A couple of days ago, my 2 year old son and I ate lunch at Applebees. I ordered a new item on the menu - Cheddar Jack Mac & Cheese with Chicken. When I took the first bite I was instantly less than thrilled. It was spicy. No where in the description did it state that it was spicy. I don't like spicy food. It usually upsets my stomach. I ate what I could of it and paid the bill and we were on our way. I didn't complain at the restaurant because I figured that it wasn't their fault. They were just following the recipe. Corporate were the ones that printed the misleading description in the menu. When I got home I went to www.applebees.com and took a second look at the menu to make sure that I didn't overlook something in the description that would imply that the dish would be spicy. I didn't. In fact, here is the description copied and pasted directly from the website:
I emailed Applebees through their website and the general manager of the Applebees that I had eaten at called me yesterday. He was very apologetic and agreed that the description is misleading. He mentioned that they mix pico de gallo into the cheese sauce. He asked if I had spoken to a manager while I was at the restaurant. I told him that I hadn't because I didn't feel like it was their fault. He told me to always ask to speak to a manager if I was less than satisfied and they would make it right on the spot. He is sending me a $10 gift card in the mail to make up for my disappointing lunch! (My lunch was only $6.99 - the total bill was $14.30 before tip so this almost pays for the whole bill!)
The moral of the story is... if you are unhappy, let someone know. A lot of times you will be compensated!
Note: this doesn't always work. I emailed Starbucks to let them know of my disappointment that they had discontinued their decaf Frappaccinos and all I got was a short apology confirming that they had, in fact, discontinued them. Oh well, it doesn't hurt to try!

Radio Station Loyal Listener Clubs
Does your radio station have a "loyal listener club"? If so I urge you to join and start racking up points! I've been earning points on my local country station's website for a month or so now by entering keywords and clicking on links. It takes about 5 minutes a day. I hadn't redeemed my points for anything yet. Well, Thursday afternoon the DJ announced that they had just added some Toby Keith tickets to the list of prizes that the points can be redeemed for. I thought for sure that I wouldn't have enough points but when I got home I checked and I did! So I redeemed my points for 2 tickets to last night's Toby Keith concert and my husband and I had a date night! The seats weren't the greatest, buy hey, they were free!!
